I can’t believe how well made these ! If you’ve ever installed a paver driveway or walkway, you know the finishing details can make a huge difference in both appearance and functionality. I was looking for something low-profile but durable to add subtle lighting along a paver drive, and these recessed solar ground lights ended up being a really solid choice.Right out of the box, they feel heavier and more substantial than most solar landscape lights I’ve used. That matters in a driveway setting because anything flush-mounted is going to take real vehicle weight and daily use. These are clearly built with that in mind. Once installed properly into the pavers, they sit flush and feel like part of the surface rather than something added on top.The light output is very clean and consistent. The 3500K warm white gives just enough illumination to define the edges of the drive without being harsh or overly bright. At night, it creates a really nice guiding effect that helps with parking and walking without turning the whole area into a floodlit space. The solar charging has been reliable so far, even on partly cloudy New England days. They turn on automatically at dusk and stay on for a reasonable duration, which is exactly what you want for path and driveway lighting. One thing I really appreciate from a property and durability standpoint is the IP67 waterproof rating. These are going to get hit with rain, snow, plowing, and vehicle traffic, so having something that feels sealed and rugged is important.Yes, they are more expensive than typical solar lights, but in this case you really are paying for something designed to be driven over and lived with long term. For a paver driveway, walkway, or landscaped hardscape where you want both function and a clean look, these are worth it.
These solar paver lights are a fantastic upgrade for any outdoor space. The warm white glow provides a sophisticated, high end look that is bright enough for safety but soft enough for a cozy atmosphere. The recessed brick design is incredibly durable and sits flush with the ground, making them safe for driveways and walkways. They charge efficiently and stay powered long into the night. No wiring needed, just place them and enjoy the instant transformation.
SHONELIGHTING 4x4 Solar Ground Lights (2-Pack)Rating: ★★★★☆ (4.5/5)If you are looking to upgrade your outdoor landscape with a clean, professional look without the headache of electrical wiring, the SHONELIGHTING 4x4 Solar Ground Lights are a fantastic investment. After testing these, here is a breakdown of why they stand out and where they fit perfectly. The Design & Build QualityThe first thing you notice is the build. Unlike many cheap plastic solar lights that pop up in big-box stores, these feel incredibly rugged. Featuring a stainless-steel base and a reinforced polycarbonate housing, they are designed to handle the elements. The "flush" design is the real winner here. Because they are designed to fit 4x4 paver footprints, they sit perfectly level with your driveway or walkway. This creates a high-end, architectural aesthetic that looks like professional hardscape lighting rather than a quick DIY fix.Performance: Brightness and LongevityThe upgrade to 32 LEDs makes a massive difference compared to standard 4-8 LED solar bricks.Brightness: These put out a beautiful 3500k Warm White glow. It’s enough to clearly illuminate a pathway for safety without being "blinding" or looking like an airport runway.Dusk-to-Dawn: The 1000mAh battery is robust. During testing, they consistently stayed lit for 8–10 hours, even after days where the sun wasn't at full intensity. The auto-sensor is snappy and reliable—they click on exactly as the sun dips below the horizon.Key HighlightsDrive-Over Durability: The "drive-over tested" claim holds up. They feel solid underfoot and handle the weight of residential vehicle traffic without issue.IP67 Waterproofing: We’ve had a few heavy rainstorms since installation, and the seals remain bone-dry. The ETFE solar panel is high-quality and seems resistant to the yellowing that often plagues cheaper units.Zero Wiring: The convenience of "drop and forget" installation cannot be overstated. You don't need an electrician or a transformer; just place them where they get a good charge.ConsiderationsSunlight Positioning: Because these are solar, they need direct sunlight to function at their best. If you place them in a heavily shaded area, you won't get the full "dusk-to-dawn" performance.Value: At $29.98 for a 2-pack ($14.99 per count), they are a mid-to-high-range product. However, considering the 30-year brand reputation of SHONELIGHTING and the durable materials used, they are significantly more cost-effective than replacing cheaper lights every season.Final VerdictThe SHONELIGHTING 4x4 Solar Ground Lights are an excellent choice for homeowners looking to add safety and elegance to their driveways, garden edges, or walkways. While they are a bit of an investment compared to entry-level solar lights, the durability, superior LED count, and flush-mount design make them worth every penny.Pro Tip: If you are buying these to fit into an existing paver layout, measure your gaps twice before purchasing to ensure they drop in perfectly. Also, look for the brand promotion (often available on the product page) to save an extra 10% on your order!
These 4x4 solar paver lights are really awesome, and a great value for the money at only $30 for the pair. These are stout and durable, made from heavy polycarbonate for years of use. These are actually able to be driven over by a car without damaging these once installed. They can easily handle people walking on them too. They measure 4" square x 1.82" deep and they have 32 LEDs per brick of 3500K warm white light. They are fully automatic with a built-in photocell sensor to turn on by themselves at dusk, and they go back off at dawn. There is a button on the bottom that powers them on or off (see pic 3). Once you power them on and install them, they do the rest on their own. Installation is quick, easy, and straightforward. They have a 1000mAh battery which takes approximately 4-6 hours to fully charge in direct sunlight and provides up to 10 hours of light on a full charge. These lights are simple and easy to use, they are very functional, and they look amazing. Now that I have tried them, I will be buying more of them because they are great lights at an affordable cost. I am very happy with these paver lights, and I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone!
Held off on writing a review on these lights for 6 months to see how they hold up. One of the best ( if not best) items I have ever bought for my pool. Have tried many different lights for our pool and nothing lasted 6 months. These are very durable and well made.
These are really beautiful, in-ground solar path or paver lights! They seem to be great quality and are well made with sturdy and durable materials. They are fully waterproof and rustproof. I’ve always wanted to line my driveway with this style of light, but since I only had 2 lights, I decided to use them where the sidewalk meets the step up, at our front porch. They are brighter than I expected but not overly bright. They add just the right amount of light that now, you can see the step up. Before, it was pitch black out there and hard to see, if the porch light wasn’t on.Other than placing them in the ground in full sun, there is really no setup or install process, which I’m a big fan of! The lights last ALL night and they turn on/off by themselves, so you can literally set them in the ground and forget them.If you are looking for simple but gorgeous outdoor path lights, these are a solid choice! They are great quality, easy to install and look beautiful in the ground!
Pros I like:• Give off nice light to mark steps after dark• Charge well and stay lit all night after sunny days• Make the walkway look modern and classy• Easy to install and durable so far• Great for safety and visibility around the porchCons/Notes:• Don’t charge on rainy/dreary days (no light that night)• 3500k color looks a bit off compared to my 5000k+ home lightingThese are super cool pavers - I built a little walk way around my porch and placed some bricks, but it was very dark and my daughter misses them occasionally after sunset. Not anymore, these give off illuminance to remind you there is a step. The lighting around my home is all of 5000 kelvin or more, so the 3500k on the ground looks a bit off, but it's the ground so it's fine. They're not bright enough to see over the steps, it's only there when you need it. On a bright sunny day, they are still lit at 6am the next morning, meaning they lasted all night. However, on a rainy day, they did not work at all that night. I thought they were broken but the following night they were lit up again. I suppose they will only charge correctly when it's bright outside. Dreary days gets no charge, but fine with me because we won't go outside when the ground is soaked. This item is a blessing in disguise and makes my walkway look way more modern and classy. I think I will add 2 or 4 more though and space them closer together.I really like these.
Lights look great, silicon glue is unforgiving.
These lights offer a great ambiance and do exactly what they say they do. They worked right from the box and lit my steps exceptionally. We spread them out along a long step and they gave enough light even with two feet between them.
Came out as pictured and was easy to install! So far so good and the lights are bright!
I purchased these lights for a dark area on our curb. Our church parking lot is not well lit at night in some areas and these light panels did the trick for us. The cost was reasonable, the quality and apparent durability is great. I don't know how long they will last, but the ease of installation without needing an electrical source suggests they can be replaced at minimal cost.
I wanted something to use around the sides of my driveway. I have wetlands roughly 25 feet behind my house and I don't want to blindly walk up on a snake one morning trying to get in my car. These were packaged well with no missing pieces/damage. Easy to install. These solar lights feel very well constructed and heavy duty. They feel like high quality solar lights. They feel like they will hold up well during inclement weather or potential flooding. They look good and aren't too bulky for a driveway and don't have to worry about them being above ground and knocking them over if I get to close to them. I do see these staying in place and not shifting. I see these being easy to weed eat around. These are a lot easier to install when your ground is wet. Especially if your soil is very compact. These lights worked out of the box and didn't need to recharge. I'm up at 4am every morning with my dogs to walk them. Both solar lights were still lit up when we made our 4am rounds this morning. I feed them after they are walked, and I walk them again before I leave for work. At 530am, these solar lights were still lit up. My driveway does get a ton of direct sunlight throughout the day. I tend to find the trend with solar lights that hold a charge for a good couple of days and then they start to wane off even with a substantial amount of direct sunlight. I am impressed with how much power these solar lights retain. This does make me feel a little more confident walking out to my car at 530am. I do feel like I would be able to spot a snake. I would recommend giving these a try. These definitely look sophisticated. These could be a good alternative to wired lighting. Depending on how many you need, these do have the potential to become costly. This might be something that I would shop around to find a more competitive price point. These are definitely something that I will have to purchase more of as long as they last so that I have a lighted path along my driveway.
These are worth the price. They cast nice amount of light and are very tough. They have been stepped on and kicked around and keep on working.
These lights are decent. I like that they are easy to set up. I just dig up a spot and drop these in. They have decent brightness and works, too this day, still. They are nice and thick and strong enough to support a lot of weight. In all they work great, the solar panels do keep them coming on every night and they look nice in the ground. I do wish mine were a bit wider, but the size isn't bad. I would say they are more like stepping stones, than planets.
I had to come back and update my original 2 star review to 5 stars as not only did the company reach out on their own offering a full refund, (which I declined as I really do love the lights and got replacements instead), they shipped the replacements extremely fast and were super apologetic. I’ve never seen customer service be so helpful and professional. You have a customer for life, thank you! Oh and I do love the lights, they are very heavy compared to the other competitors with cheap plastic encasements. These lights look stunning on my pavers!
So I got these 4x8 solar ground lights thinking it would be a quick weekend project. Fast forward two hours and I am outside admiring my walkway like I personally invented electricity. No joke, my wife has yelled at me to come inside. My kids keep checking on me. I'm having a cigar sitting out here loving these lights.First off, the size is perfect. They actually replace standard 4x8 pavers, so they sit flush with the ground and do not stick up like those cheap lights that look like they are trying to escape. My walkway now looks clean, modern, and way more expensive than it actually was. My neighbor even slowed down while walking his dog, which I am counting as a victory.Installation was ridiculously easy. No wires, no complicated setup, no moment where I question my life choices. I just dropped them in place and let the sun do its thing. If you can place a brick, you can install these. Be sure to remove the magnets that keep the lights off.The brightness surprised me. These things are not messing around. The LEDs light up the whole path without blinding you, and they stay on for about 4-5 hours after sunset. I think this might be due to how much sun it gets to charge. Maybe with the seasons changing I'll get more hours out of it.We have already had rain and a cold snap and they did not care at all. They are solid, waterproof, and apparently tough enough to handle being driven over, which is good because my parking skills are… a work in progress.Overall, these lights made my yard look great with minimal effort. Five stars for making me look more handy than I actually am.
SHONELIGHTING 4x8″ Solar Ground Lights Outdoor, IP67 Waterproof & Super Bright 3500K are very nice quality solar light lights. With a beautiful pattern appearance on top of color lights and a ring of light around the top. When this product arrived it had a heaviness about it which I like. These solar light were very easy to install, we just dug a bit of dirt and kept it leveled as possible and put lights on top, flushed with our walkway. These look amazing, light up nicely and a battery life that lasts through the night till dusk. These pictures we took when I leave for work in the morning around 7am and these lights were still on. These lights receive full sun in my yard as I have no mature trees or shade.
5 stars for quality, but placement is critical, you need lots of sun time.
I installed these 4x8 solar in-ground lights along the edge of a walkway, and I like how they sit flush and look “built in” instead of like stake lights sticking up. The warm white glow is bright enough to outline the path without feeling harsh, and the light spreads evenly through the textured top so you don’t get a single blinding point. They turn on automatically at dusk and have been consistent night to night after getting a good charge during the day. They feel sturdy in hand and solid once set in place, and I haven’t had any issues with them shifting or loosening after rain. Installation was straightforward once I matched the opening to the 4x8 size, and I like that there’s no wiring to deal with. Overall, they’ve been a nice way to add subtle landscape lighting while keeping a clean, low-profile look.
The SHONELIGHTING 4x8" Solar Ground Lights are an elegant, high-performance lighting solution that transforms any driveway or walkway into a high-end landscape feature. I am absolutely thrilled with these solar bricks. They are the perfect 4x8" size to replace standard pavers, making them look completely built-in. The 3500K warm white glow is sophisticated, not that harsh blueish light you usually get with cheap solar. They feel incredibly solid and have handled my SUV driving over them daily without a scratch. The IP67 waterproofing has been tested by several heavy New York rainstorms, and they still fire up every night at dusk. It’s the easiest way to add a professional lighting look without hiring an electrician.
They look good around the pool and very easy to install.
